UnderConstruction is a multi-national theatre company, making devised, site-based performance since its formation by British artist Lizzy McBain and Brazilian artist Tania Grillo in 2006.
Constructing site-sensitive work that engages the audience as an active participant, the company’s ethos is centred in collaboration with other artists and multiple art forms – storytelling, poetry, music, multimedia and projection, dance...
We work in many different ways to devise our performances, guided by the work at hand, however we are passionate about unusual sites and spaces and work with the history and community of the site to inspire and inform our work.
