sobre o caminhar to be performed again!

28th Nov 2009

5pm, Instituto Moreira Salles, Rio de Janeiro, Saturday 28th November 2009. Sobre o Caminhar to be performed in Brazil

On the 22nd August 2009 at 5pm, Under Construction will be performing a redeveloped, Brazilian version of A Walk Between entitled Sobre o Caminhar at the Instituto Moreira Salles, Gavea, in Rio de Janeiro. The piece will be performed as part of the 100 year celebration of the birth of Roberto Burle Marx, the famous Brazilian landscape designer who designed the gardens at Moreira Salles. This commission has given us the opportunity to take many of the ideas we explored at Southside House, Wimbledon (2007) further; most notably travel and discovery and the visual possibilities of describing place. Furthermore it is fitting to locate our ideas about home and where we come from in Tania's birthplace following our work in England and lengthy artistic exploration of the emotional and physical sense of being "at home".
